Would rather be homeless

To be perfectly honest with you, I would rather have been homeless all summer than deal with the people there. We had a 3 bedroom that was in good shape when we moved in, but I had a 2 page list of things that needed to be fixed after being there a week. I had really creepy neighbors, there were threats of being shot with a paintball gun, and really crappy parking. There is one dumpster in the entire neighborhood and it's at the very beginning of the complex, so if you like carrying your trash for half a mile, be my guest.
About 2-3 months into living there the neighbors above us had a water leak that went into our apartment and the one below us. It ruined much of our stuff and the wall/ceiling as well as most of the carpet. We notified maintenance and they did not come to fix anything for an entire month. We moved out early for unrelated reasons but the agreement was that we would pay rent until they re-let the apartment. Come to find out they not only didn't even fix the apartment until 2 months after we moved out, they then tried to bill us $3,000 dollars in "damages" to the apartment, blaming it all on our dog. When I addressed the water leak to the staff they snapped at me and threatened to send me to collections within a week of not paying them. They were completely unprofessional and rude. I have never seen a grown woman act so childish, after discussing issues w/ my lawyer I begrudgingly gave them an additional months rent and hope I never have to speak with them ever again. I would not recommend this place to anyone, no matter who you are.
