I lived at Windsor at Polaris for 12 months. I expected more from the most expensive apartments in Columbus. These apartments were built years ago, and then refurbished by Windsor after they bought the place. The buildings are sub-par. I could see the outside sun light under my door. There was actually a draft near the front, and patio doors. The gated entry that leads to Polaris Town Centre is demolished on a weekly basis to the point that it is comical. I asked management what the deal was, and they blamed it on concert goers frequenting the Polaris Ampitheater (which is very loud during the warm months). Apparently management did not consider the fact that there are no events at the aforementened venue October through May. Nonetheless, vehicles continued to crash through the gates during this time. Also, the pool was closed for two weeks because of vandalism. On the upside, these apartments are located far enough away from Columbus? bad areas to be safe, but close enough that I could get to the medical center in under 15 minutes. It should be noted that the grounds are kept in impeccable condition. It really does look like a post card. The management is always cordial. Anyway...my chief complaint is that the office charged me a small fortune in damages upon move-out. Considering that I am a physician in a 100 hour/week program, and that I was hardly ever home, much less damaging the property, I was shocked at this rather transparent attempt to blackmail my credit report in order for Windsor to raise it?s bottom line. I wrote letters to both the manager?s office, as well as the Windsor corporate offices in Boston. After being contacted by the law firm retained to collect the so-called "damages", I was told by one of the attorneys that Windsor denied ever receiving my letters, and that I should pay the debt, or get a good lawyer. Caveat Emptor!
