OK (Not bad, but not great)

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005
Positives:
1. Nice kitchens and appliances, bathrooms, and cabinets and all that.
2. The exercise room is passable (one suggestion would be for the management to replace the ancient elliptical machines, but otherwise, not bad).
3. The office staffers have always been nice and polite to me (read: to me, however I can see why some people might be put off by them).
4. The maintenance staff has been pretty timely with my requests.
5. Close proximity to Downtown Columbus, Grandview, and stuff to do.
Needs improvement:
1. The garage doors in my garage seem to be broken about 75% of the time. I don't know how they get that way, but they are rarely in working condition. One clue is that I see people driving like idiots frequently in the garage, even one major accident (airbag and all). A result of this is that I've seen one broken into vehicle, and one that had been vandalized.
2. The residents. The pool seems to be a popular hangout in the middle of the night and the sound carries very well to the rooms facing the courtyard... Nuff said.
3. The residents again, nobody ever likes to see puke, puke stains, or other random stains when they're coming or going. In my building, that's not uncommon.
3. The rent was certanly on the pricey side for a the budget of a young professional when I moved in, but now they're increasing the rates substantially, and that makes the rental rates borderline unreasonable. You can find a similarly decent place for significantly less. That's what I'm doing.
Other:
1. The train really isn't that bad. I've barely noticed it during my time there. Then again that could just be the placement of my apartment.
2. After football games, the traffic all around that place is total gridlock. But on the plus side, it's close enough to the stadium that you can walk to the games.
3. Visitor parking, while much improved leaves something to be desired. Bottom line, the visitor parking is a little less than adequate. Sometimes, even the resident parking garage is filled to capacity, which is kind of annoying, and probably related to that visitor parking problem.
4. There are a lot of dogs, and while the dog waste situation probably isn't as bad as some people make it out to be, it's usually wise to watch your step.
