Other than the location this place is the worst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At first there were people puking in the stairwells, then there was human feces in the stairwell, then there was all of the 3 am fire drills via drunks pulling the fire alarms and busting out the fire extinguishers, etc. The outdoor crews keep the grounds clean enough to be presentable except in the pet pooping area (where they provide bags but no one uses them). The neighbors are rude, lack common courtesy, and live here like this is a frat house. No one cleans the garages, the hallways, or the stairwells (so there is always trash and cigarette butts there). Moved in August and they finally fixed lights in the garage in January. The garage door to the parking garage has been broken the majority of the time I have lived here. So anyone off the street can wait in the garage to rob us or break in our cars.

After office hours there is no one to call for domestic issues, when asked for a # to call I was told to call the Grandview police. One time I was told "if that would have happened we would have known b/c we have a courtesy officer on premises in your building. The courtesy officer is a police officer here at reduced rent and apparently doesn't care or take notice of events.

Some of our neighbors think its fun to crank up their car stereos on the roof of the garage and have dance parties and play basketball at 3 am any given night of the week. The through way in the garage is cramped and we have came close to head-on collisions numerous times. One of the neighbors also thinks that is ok to leave her dog out on her 3rd floor patio (early sat mornings) and the only helpful person in the office tried to handle that situation but did not succeed (even with the grandview police b/c she couldn't come up or call w/o them). They tell you to call the police instead of taking care of their residents which puts the upstanding residents at risk for retribution from the offending parties. The office woman really seemed to want to help but couldn't and now she works at another apartment community.

My upstairs neighbor stomps around (as opposed to walking like most normal human beings) and drops his weights (I am of course assuming that it is weights, could be dead hookers) on the floor when we are sleeping. Maybe it seems like I am nit picking but when you spend a decent amount of money on rent you expect people and staff to behave in a courteous manner and not have to step over puke and trash when you walk.

There are broken doors, trash is everywhere, various other broken community amenities (i.e.- I still cannot buzz in guest via my phone, which was address 3 times and then we gave up), the club house room has never been opened the entire time that I have lived here, and everyone has an attitude of "who cares." When you move in you fill in a report of what is damaged or scraped when you move in, no one fixed anything from our report (so we still have scraped paint and a broken bracket in our apartment which apparently we will probably be charged for). The place looks great and when I have people over they are impressed by the place. I assure them that this place is horrible once you get past how it looks.

The final straw was when someone tried to enter our apartment WITH A KEY, with no prior notice (luckily we lock both of our locks). We asked maintenance about the intrusion and they said no one had tried to enter our apartment. Things had been missing in our apartment (my credit card) and lights on when we'd come home that we had not left on. So we thought someone had been coming in when we weren't home. We asked for the locks to be changed b/c we didn't feel safe and then we were charged $50 dollars for the change. We wanted to talk to the manager about it and it took her over a week to call us back. She accused us of duplicating our key (which we had not) and made us pay b/c she said if we were afraid we would have called the police and not maintenance. When told we would not be renewing our lease she said, "well i'm sorry to hear that," and promptly hung up. So do yourself a favor and look for an apartment where the staff cares about keeping you as a customer.

ps- I really have tried to appreciate the staff for being human beings that probably are up to their necks in complaints and have no ability to make things right b/c of their supervisors but I had to inform others of my experiences here. Read the reviews, they go back years and everyone says the same thing. Wise up management. Hopefully, prospective renters won't come here and you'll have to make some changes. hey, and maintenance isn't too bad as far as promptness is concerned when you call during the week. Weekends you'll wait unless it's an emergency.
