First of all there and hundreds upon hundreds of vacant rooms that have windows broken, doors kicked in, rodents running around in them, ect. My fiance and I visited this complex and they wouldn't show us a model room when we first went so we had to come back the next day. The person showing us the apartment(Victor) was very short with us and very nearly rude, but the model looked decent so we went ahead paid our application fee and turned in our rental applications. We both have good credit and no evictions so the rental office said they would get back to us in 2 days. After 3 days we called the office and was told they hadn't finished processing the applications yet. After 5 days we repeatedly kept checking up on our applications and that is where it all went downhill. We were told we could only speak to Victor concerning our applications and none of the other staff could help us. One day we got him on the phone about 1pm and he told us was too busy and to call back later. We called back at 3pm and and another associate(a middle-eastern man named "Ahmen") said that Victor wasn't at work that day. When we told him we just spoke to Victor a couple hours ago Ahmen hung up. At first they would say "call back tomorrow" or "call back monday" every single day. After that when we called both of them they blatantly hung up on us as soon as we asked to speak to Victor. One time I called and Ahmen answered the phone in his native language(Arabic') and not once mentioning that it was wingate apartments, as if I had the wrong phone number. I asked for Victor regardless, to which he said "Ugh, alright. Fine" and was put on hold for, no lie, an hour and half. Would have been longer instead I hung up. So basically, all they wanted was our application fees, and then to disappear. And this is really just the half of it, they also lied to us about prices and move-in date. Their rudeness and extremely unprofessional management was enough to make me seriously consider reporting them to the better business bureau. Be careful and whatever you do don't give them your money and don't believe any promises they make you.

Thanks! After all this yes we are quite happy not to live there. I wasn't sure if we had enough against them to report but now I am definitely going to take your advice and go after them about this. Thanks again for the response.

IN response to the person that said to let the home office know. They do already. They are slumlords and don't care. I have actually heard the corporate project manager say "F*#k the residents. They don't need the sidewalks shoveled." Wingate is owned by Matrix Realty Group. They have one tiny office and also run an HVAC and a plumbing business from the same street address.
