Portage Towers is located in a nice area, just a few blocks off of Route 8. The only complaint I have is the management has a tendency to put you off, but that's easily taken care of if you're persistent enough to call them every day to remind them of your problem. Only one manager has ever been rude to me and he was walked off the property shortly after the incident, never to be heard from again.

There was a problem with ants shortly after we moved in, but that was taken care of and has never recurred.

Since I've been here, the driveway has been repaved, the game rooms and gyms (there are 3 gyms total) updated, the pool fence and cement around the pool replaced, and the landscaping improved. Since they were all pretty nice to begin with, I've been pretty impressed.

The laundry rooms provide ample washers and dryers, provided one of your neighbors doesn't decide to use them all for himself at once.

There is plenty of parking for residents as well as guests.

I rarely hear my neighbors. Usually the only time I hear anyone else while I'm in my apartment is while they're walking past my front door.

The rent is fairly low, too. We've had two increases and one reduction during lease renewals. They also offer a few different floor plans; one bedroom, one bath; two bedrooms, one bath; two bedrooms, two baths; with or without a sunken livingroom.

I would recommend Portage Towers for couples and small families. It's also cat-friendly!
