Here are some pros and cons about the Portage Towers in Cuyahoga Falls:

PROS:
Square footage is great.
Walk-in closets are huge.
There is a dishwasher (2 bedroom units only).
The balcony is huge.
There is a storage/hall walk-in closet with built-on shelves. Great for a "pantry" and for serious storage.
Lots of light because of the HUGE windows.
Storage locker in basement level of building. Each room looks pretty clean.
Usually there are places to park.
Video cameras that are on all the time.
Utilities are added to your rent. Approximately $50. Which, considering the gas prices, is great. Electric is super cheap
I have newer appliances in my apartment and they are efficient. That saves a maitenance call.
I called for help once and they came right up and fixed my problem.

CONS:
New girl in office is never nice. Always seems to be put out if you're having a problem.
Ants. Closet/bathroom/kitchen. They are pharoah ants. They live in the bones of the building and are attracted to sweet things and protein, so if they're in your kitchen watch out. I cannot use a countertop (which is very limited anyway) because the ants are all over it if I do use it.
If they are working on the water lines, they do not give notice. I have been without water twice because a line had burst. No shower before work isn't very pleasant.
The kitchen cabinets are gross. When I cook I always have to wipe out my pans because wood pieces fall all in them. They need replaced terribly. They are all pitted and peeling and falling apart.
The noise is terrible. As I'm typing this I can hear my neighbor's baby screaming, their disposal, and television. You can also hear everyone in the hallway and people using the stairs.
When someone is moving in, there is only a small elevator to use and it takes about 15 minutes to wait for it.
The hallways are musty smelling, and if you are a non smoker, and live on a floor with a smoker it filters into the hallway and is absolutely gross.
The balcony has some weird mold growing on it and I can't go out there barefoot.
There is mold all around the windows. Every window has black type mold growing on it. They fog up in the winter time and they drip serious water.
I have lived here almost a year and they already are going to raise my rent approx $30/month.
The lobby and mail room smell gross all the time.
The washers and dryers are constantly broken. I have to hang up my clothes to dry in my apartment. The staff doesn't fix it.

So, basically, it's your choice if you want to live here. Unfortunately for myself, I can't find a better apartment/rental unit for the same price around here, so I have to renew my lease. If you get rid of the ant problem, the mold, the gross cabinets, and the weird smells it wouldn't be that bad a place to live. It just needs some updating. I mean the cabinets are probably from the 1980s at least, and are falling into my pots and pans. I don't really want to eat wood . . .or ants.
