Cannery Lofts Apartments
AVERAGE RATING

Cool, social building but needs some work on the basics..

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
The good:
Most tenants are younger, more social than typical Dayton.
Property management is awesome.
Not many kids running around (if any).
Parking garage is heated.
Very cool apartment layouts...High ceilings, exposed brick, open floorplans.
A bar in the first floor of the building.
The good and/or bad:
Walking distance to Oregon District, 5-3 Field, 2nd St Market, etc.
Walking distance to some real sketchy areas (which means they walk this way too).
Storage/closet space is hit or miss.. Some apts have walk in closets and coat closets.. Some apts have almost zero closet or storage space.
The bad:
Expensive for the area.
Parking....Parking is $60/month and is in a garage across the street; this sucks in the winter. Sometimes a waiting list for a parking spot. Street parking is unsafe - plan on a few new windows a year or your entire car getting stolen.
Thin walls... If you don't get an apt with brick walls to your neighbor (meaning drywall between you and them) - expect to hear their movies, their crying kids, and their sex life.
Bedrooms are dark. The layouts of most apartments end up with the bedrooms not having windows. Hard to wake up in the mornin' in the dark.
Construction quality is adequate, but I expect more for the rent $$. No icemakers, no squirty-thing in the sink, loud dishwasher (which is pretty much in your living area).
All electric heat and cooking.
