Castle"broke" Apartments.... This place sucks on so many levels!!!!!!Well... I can sum up two words to describe Castlebrook Apartments in Trotwood, OH...PURE HELL!!!! I moved in on the $99 deposit and 2 months free special. And I didn't move in until after the free two months were up, because they were to clean my carpet in the apartment before I moved in. THAT NEVER HAPPENED! My husband and I cleaned the carpets ourselves. And we were not reimbursed. We also did not have a door on our mailbox. You know the list of broke things you are supposed to sign or write down before you move in' Well we filled this out and the mailbox was one of the items listed. Well someone took my husband's bank statements and opened them. We called Trotwood Police to our apartment and made a report(which they were very helpful). We informed the Manager of the apartment complex the next day and her ignorant ass asked do we know who did it. I told her I didn't not know and that they were black(I am also black and so is everyone in my building). Also the air conditioning was broke when we moved in. It was like turning on HELL not air.It was so hot our furniture was sweating. If the couch wanted to leave I wouldn't blame it.We were informed that this was to be taken care of.This also NEVER HAPPENED.Because of the halucinations of seeing the ----- in our hot apartment, I had to take my children back to their grandparents for 2 months because it was too hot to stay in there. Then, it got cold and my heat did not work. I called the office everyday for one week about getting my heater fixed. It took 4 weeks for this to happen. Fast forward to present time... the crime is rampant here. A few months ago, they were making progress by having security gaurds check everyones ID as they came through the gates. If you did not live there you had to roll out. This was great. They gained a little bit of respect from me at that time. But suddenlly they stopped this.Recently a young man's body was found in a vacant apartment(and the apartment was locked). He was there about 2 weeks before he was found. Someone complained about the smell. I beleive (and I am not saying this happened) that the swell was reported prior to two weeks. For all the building smell like raw sewage. The night before the young man was found there was a raid in my apartment building. When speaking with management about this, they were clueless to the events. They began rambling about the new things they are doing and new projects they are working on. Basically a smokescreen to take my mind off of the police raid and the murder at the complex. Unfortunatlly, I can't afford to live where I feel safe. But then again, this is Dayton. There is no safe place to live here. This is just the bottom rung.If considering moving here, maybe you should consider moving to another state. Or you can sit and enjoy watching Castle"broke" continue to crumble with Lucifer.

I recently moved into Castlebrook and have found it to be very pleasant. I have noticed that the building are being painted and new carpet has been installed in some of the buildings. New land scaping has also been planted at the community. I went into the office last week and the property manager invited me to look around the offices, he informed me that the offices and clubhouse was being totaly remodled. Two of the offices were painted and new carpet was installed. he took me over to one of the building and showed me one of the hallways that had been painted and new carprt installed. It really looked beautiful. I seen some people draining the pool, and I think the pool is opening this year.Yea!!!! I think the new owners of the community are really trying hard to bring Castlebrook up to higher standars.

I really can't speak on what happened in the past at Castlebrook apartments but I do have a pretty good idea what is going on now. They have new management,(great staff). They have hired 4 new maintenance men and they are VERY proffesional and they know their stuff. I know this because I have walked the property and have looked into various units and let me tell you, they look great. New Everything!! I have talked to a few of the people that live there because I plan on moving out there. They only had good things to say and emphasized that the new mgmt. is really doing a good job at changing the old reputation of Castlebrook. The move in specials are great. I would like to add that I hope the mgmt. screens the applicants thoroughly so they can keep out the riff-raff and I hope the tennants keep their eyes and ears open and report any wrong doings. This will keep the reputation of the new castlebrook a good one.
