I will be a new tenant in the very near future and I was just curious about the level of crime in the area. Any car break ins..' Or apartment break ins' I will be living in a town home, close to the office, and am wondering if that area is nice and if I have anything I should be aware of before I move in' I was reading all of the reviews and saw that in previous years people said that there apartment was cold and no heat and bad toilets and leaking roofs... any of that still apply to chatham' It came off as a really nice place. Anyone who replies please tell me what street you live on, & if you are in an apartment or townhome, I am just curious about the surroundings and everybodys opinion that lives there. Thanks everyone.

I live in the building directly behind the office and I can tell you that as far as crime rate there hasn't been anything....it's very quiet here and the staff are very responsive. As far as leaks and issues with the apartment itself goes, all you have to do is notify the office and it will be taken care of. Wonderful place to live...very child and pet friendly and I would highly recommend it.

I will be living on scarsdale close to the pool. I am looking forward to the pool and work out facility. I hope neighbors are nice and welcoming. :) We have a pet so glad to hear it is pet friendly. Thank you for your positive response, it increases my excitement about moving to Chatham.

well, no real break-ins to speak of. but a year and a half ago, about 40 cars had slashed tires. if you notice outside lights not working, you must report them. every day until they get them fixed. there is an emergency maintenance pager, and they do get emergency leaks and that sort of thing taken care of ASAP. don't let your kids play in the parking lots or streets, and you'll be fine. keep an eye on them. you might want to check the website that lists for sex offenders. last I looked, there were 3 in this complex. you can go to http://www.familywatchdog.us/ for an accurate one that searches from your address.

I looked up sex offenders after reading your response... it is sort of scary that FIVE (5) sex offenders live in the apartment complex. And one of them, is very close to my apartment. I am not sure how the numbers are set up, but my apartment # ends with a 0, and his ends with a 1, and the first 3 numbers are the same, so that is either directly across the street or right next door. At least the website offers pictures of the offenders. And thankfully the website lists the convictions of these sex offenders, one is rape, one is VOYEURISM.... that is very scary. I look forward to being the nice peoples' new neighbors. Maybe you'll see us around!

My fiance and I have lived at Chatham for around 3 months now, the only things we have encountered since moving here is our toilet in the upstairs shot water out of the top of tank, and our shower head was broke. But everything was fixed pretty quickly. We have also noticed that the central air is not the best, be prepared to buy fans so you can be comfortable in bed at night!
