This place was once wonderful. I've lived here since 2002, and have had no complaints until recently. It has gone on a downward spiral for the last year and a half. It seems that anymore they let anyone rent here...which makes it seem like Kettering's ghetto. There is a registered sex offender living here and no working lighting outside of the laundry room. Maintenance is a joke, and the structures seem to literally be crumbling apart. Complex was built in 1968 and is starting to show. I have a hard time saying it's not worth it here because it 's just been recently that it's been this way. They screw you with the water bill and the rent increases are ridiculous when you resign. Could be a beautiful glamorus complex if the right management were to do it. I would only recommend because out of the 4 years I've been here I've only hated 1 1/2 of those...albeit the last 1 and 1/2.

I am seriously looking at these apartments... I was wondering if you could fill me in. I loved the apartment that they showed me and I'm nervous now that I see all these reviews... What do you pay for? How sage is it? How is the Mantience? Please fill me in on whatever you can... I really need to know, because we were seriously thinking of putting the deposit down. Thanks

To Truckgirl10---
Don't rent at Georgetown!! They will do anything and everything to woo the tenant.... Once you are legally committed--- well you can forget any Maintenance, look forward to student parties, loud neighbors, questionable standard of tenants, and so much more! They will talk about the 'olympic sized' swimming pool (yea, right) or the 'state of the art' fitness room (do they mean the one with very old broken equipment, and trash and vomit all over the floor--- yes we have pics.)

Are you aware of the murder which took place there a year or so ago?

The office staff will ignore pleas for help when the upstairs neighbours pound on their floor, and allow their children to race and jump over your heads at 3 and 4 am. Day in and day out..... all the time. They will then rent the same apartment to a tenant with 3 large dogs, who run and run and run ALL DAY LONG.

They will tear out what is left of the classic styling of the property and replace with tacky elements. They will only begin to address issues within your unit when your lease renewal is impending. They will then change managers and any promises they made 'if you re-signed' will be ignored and you will be told that the previous manager left them with so much work and problems that they cannot fix what was promised.

DO NOT RENT HERE!!

Incidentally, I do agree with what the original poster said.... the community used to be a really nice place.... but the problems have been apparent for more than a year and a half --- try at least 3-4 years. Sadly, we were trapped by a long lease and many promises for some time.

I would be more than happy to share my experience at this place with you... just ask.

I plan to eventually post a detailed account of our nightmare there, but having just recently left Georgetown and the severe stress living there caused, I am not yet ready to delve into it just yet. But when I do, you can be assured my account will be as complete and detailed as this site will allow!

I agree with everything they are saying my family had the same problem, we were shown a very nice unit, but given another only after already moving out of my previous apartment so I had no choice. The units are falling I think I have more cracks showing on my wall than the actual paint itself, and recently I realized I had mold in my bathroom and before I moved in it was there but not taken care of just painted over, I would not put my worst enemy in this place I am counting down the next few months until I can run out of here.... DO NOT RENT HERE IT IS A DANGER ZONE!!!!!!!!!!!!
