Don't Do It

Let me start of by saying Connor Murphy aka The Connor Group has 18 or so lawsuits against them here in Ohio for not responding to maintenance calls. It was on the 11:00 news about 3 weeks ago!

Now let's get to my experiences.

A month after I moved in I received a bill from a power company. After further review I found out I was responsible paying a protion of a common gas, water, and trash bill that averages $50 a month! I was not told about this when I signed my lease. Oh and the common water heater goes out at least once a month so I hope you don't mind cold showers!!!

There was also a hidden, non-refundable charge of $175 in addition the the deposit that was in the lease agreement but they didn't collect because the apartment I was supposed to move into was not ready on my move-in date.

The apartment they gave me as a replacement was filthy. There was dog or cat hair in the fridge, in the drawers of the upstairs bathroom, in the track on which the bathroom mirror rails roll. There was a 1/4" of dust on the ceiling fan downstairs. The oven has to be 20 years old. Some of the linoleum tiles in the bathroom where either torn or bubbled up from the floor. It's not insulated well and I can hear my neighbors every time they go up or down the stairs in their apartment.

Now here is the kicker. I get a promotion with my company and I'm offered a job in another state. I go to the leasing office to see what it takes to get out of my lease and I'm asked, "Did you sign an out-of-state employment get-out-of-your-lease agreement".
What the %$#* is that!' Nobody even told me there was such a thing when I signed my lease. I was told if I didn't sign this form at the time I signed the lease the only way I could get out was pay the 12 months remaining in full or sublease it! What!!! I've lived here for 2 years, never paid late, never been a problem in any way and you screw me like this!!! Oh I'm telling everyone and the best thing is I work for one of the local media outlets so I'm hoping I can really spread the gospel and warn everyone about this place. 3mPoZ6gGN6wTPgNi4L2C

Right on! They do not tell you about Heartland Regional Power when you move in! But they make you take their services anyway.
