When I moved into this apartment complex, the management and property was something to be proud to be a part of. But somewhere along the way, something happened. I noticed that there were several changes of management, (some were totally incompetent), and the more managers that come and went, so did the quality of life at Georgetown. They would add a new charge onto your new lease, giving some ridiculous reason, then, the next year they would add the same, or higher, increase in the rent payment using the same, or very similar reason.
I don't know why I didn't leave this place sooner.... maybe I thought things would change. How wrong I was. There has never been anything done to improve the property that would benefit the tenants... Oh yes, they decided that allowing pets to run free in the complex would be a great draw to bring in more tenants. But, they have let the sidewalks crack and sink, causing some tenants to refer to the swampy mess as "Lake Sheringham".
If you want a light changed in your apartment, you have to purchase it yourself and install it yourself.
Another thing that really turns me off with this place is the so called "Heartland Regional Power Company". Before you even consider moving in here, look that company up on the internet. You will see that it is a total scam to rip off the tenants. It allows them to charge you for their water, sewer, trash, the gas the complex uses, the electricity the complex uses, and on top of that... an administrative fee. Oh yes, they are very fond of administrative fees around here. You will be charged for them filling out your lease, and filing it.
A word of advice... don't come here first to look for an apartment. The pool looks nice, but it has to be repaired every year... to Camouflage the cracks in it.
You'd be much better off to purchase a condo or a small house to begin your free living style. Don't let Georgetown bamoozle you into signing a lease........

just an extra note on the pool. it was shut down by the HEALTH DEPT. 3 times last summer in 08'. they lied to me when i called the office and asked y. so i called my good ole friend at the healt dept. and guess what, he pulled up the report or should i say reports. it was closed by the hd and they almost were on the verge of being shut down for good. go to kettering rech if you live here, don't go in gt pool. you may die.
