THIS PLACE IS THE DEFINITION OF GHETTO- I HAVE NOT GONE A WEEK WITHOUT A MAINTENANCE/NEIGHBOR PROBLEM!!! THE WORKOUT ROOM IS A JOKE!!! FOR THE PAST THREE MONTHS THE ONE AND ONLY TREADMILL HAS BEEN BROKEN... AND THE NEIGHBORS THAT LIVE HERE ARE GHETTO AS WELL (I LOOKED UP INTO AN OPEN WINDOW ONE DAY WHILE WALKING THE MILE AND A HALF TO MY CAR AND SAW THAT THE PEOPLE ACTUALLY HAD SPRAY PAINTED GRAFFITTI ON THEIR WALLS... UGH)
OH AND TOP IT ALL OFF, THIS MORNING I HAD TO RUN THE WATER IN THE SHOWER FOR OVER 20 MIN, AND IT WAS STILL ICE COLD!!!
BOTTOM LINE... WHILE THIS PLACE LOOKS GOOD ON FROM THE STREET... ITS A DISGUSTING MESS AND *NOT* WORTH $750 A MONTH!!!
DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!
AS FOR ME... I'M SERIOUSLY THINKING ABOUT BREAKING MY LEASE!!!!

Exactly what happened to us....and we were paying 869.00 and did break our lease after 5 months of Hell. Did you have drug dealers as neighbors also? We had drug traffic at all hours of the day and night, and to top it off...the day we moved out my husband witnessed a robbery in broad daylight and had to talk to police on numerous occasions...turned out the theif was a "friend" of the drug dealer upstairs. I have warned everyone to stay away from these apartments!

I didn't experience the drug deals or ghetto neighbors but something even worse.
There was a non-refundable $175 fee on top of your deposit that you are not told about until it's time to sign the lease. You will receive a bill every 3 months for common water, electric, trash, and gas from Heartland Regional Power Co. Broken down that is lights for the parking lot, water for your apartment and the pool. Gas for the water heater and garbage service. They don't tell you this up front and you don't have a separate meter. If you use less water than your neighbors too bad!!! The bill is split X ways. PERIOD! The lease just says you are responsible for paying the DP&L and ANY OTHER UTILITIES. When I received the bill I almost tossed it in the trash. The average bill was about $50. The funny thing is even when 4 of the 13 or so apartments in my building were empty the bill didn't go down. The parking is terrible. If you get home after 5:30 plan on walking quite a distance from your parked vehicle to to your door. The laundry room is always dirty. The workout room is pathetic. I've seen better workout equipment in a 12 year old's bedroom. They try to charge you for every little thing when you move. i.e. $35 to replace a cheap vinyl blind you can purchase at Home Depot for $6. The worst thing about that was it was broken when I moved in but the previous tenant taped the single broken slat together. I didn't know this until the spring after I moved in and opened the window. Since I didn't report it within 30 days of moving in I had to foot the bill. Charged $35 because I forgot to turn in a key. The excuse was they had to change the locks. They have to change the locks when a tenant moves even if all keys are returned. I owned a carpet cleaner and kept my carpet very clean. There was some high traffic dirt by the front door and between the couch and coffee table. That was it. I cleaned the carpet for the last time in May and moved Sept 8. I was charged a carpet cleaning fee of around $40 for less than normal carpet dirt for which by law you are not supposed to be charged. That's probably the cleanest carpet they've ever hard when a tenant moved. I own rental properties now and I would love for someone to leave the carpet that clean. The Apt. was dirty when I moved in. Cat hairs in the fridge, drawers, and corners. Orange juice spills in the fridge. Dirty stove. An unbelievable amount of dust on the ceiling fan, blinds, and everywhere else. The Fridge and Stove were outdated. Crappy Heat and A/C. High heating/cooling bills. I received my first 2 months rent free (should have been a red flag) and at the end they tried to say I owed $170 more for the first 8 days of Sept. They tried to say I would have paid a prorated charge for my first months rent. I had to find my original lease and canceled checks to negate that charge. My apartment wasn't even ready on my move-in date. When I stopped by the office to get the key they asked if I could wait 2 or 3 days to move. I already had the truck and the help!!!
