Not bad at all

I've lived in Woodman Park apartments for over a year now and have had a pretty good experience. First of all, let me just say that this complex is close to Wright State University so a fair amount of residents are college students. Being a WSU student myself, this was fine by me, but older residents may be slighty irked by the some of the louder noise that comes with college students. At the same time, the complex is far from an "Animal House" type setting with wild parties 'til dawn, kids puking in bushes and rampant vandalism. In fact, I found the complex to be quite calm for the amount of college-aged residents. The non-college age residents are usually fairly nice, mostly lower middle-class folks in their 30's and 40's. The apartments themselves are nothing amazing. Typical setup for what you'd expect with apartments in the $400-$500 price range. The carpet in our apartment was less than perfect when we moved in but other than that everything else was actually really well kept up. I haven't had any complaints as far as maintenance goes. We had to call them a couple of times for various reasons and they always get the job done in a reasonable time frame and were always very courtious and friendly with me. The staff has always been friendly as well whenever I've interacted with them. The parking situation is usually very good, I have never had any trouble getting a parking space that was fairly close to my apartment, in fact I can usually park within a few yards from my building. The security officer patrols the lots nightly and I've never heard of an automobile break-in or vandalism during the time I've lived here. They have a nice, well-kept pool, a basketball court (not so great), and on sight access to a great bike/walking trail. The complexes biggest downfall is its exit. The to exit the complex you must turn onto Woodman which is a very busy road. There is no light so at busier times in the day turning left out of the complex is a very daunting task. I have seen severall accidents at this intercection in the time I've lived here. Basically, there needs to be a light there. All-in-all, I have had a good experience here at Woodman Park. I think too many people expect perfection with their living conditions. It's less than $500 a month! It's not going to be luxury apartments, people! You're going to have some inconviences. Still, these apartments are way nicer than some of the apartments I've lived in for the same price. I would recomend Woodman park for anybody going to UD or WSU or anybody on a budget who wants to get the most out of their $435.
