Formerly one of the best apartment communities to live at in Delaware, Hayes Colony is now the most frustrating place to live in town. They recently replaced all the staff or got bought out or something, but the new employees are crazy. First the girl in the office is very nice, and she will tell you whatever you want to hear, but as far as following through on anything forget it. When you call for maintenance, someone might come out in a week or so, and then basically tell you that your stupid and everything works fine. They absolutely will not fix anything! The grass here gets mowed about once a month, and the bushes have grown over across my front door. Finding a parking spot is usually impossible, and they just made that worse by removing parking spots when they recently repainted the lines. You can really notice the age of the buildings showing through, and be prepared for high utility bills as a result. The new manager has brought a whole new clientelle here, mostly degenerates, drug people, and roudy kids. As a result of the new, more diverse tenants the noise level has become unbearable. Loud music, shouts of profanity in the middle of the night, fighting, constant flow of traffic, breaking beer bottles outside, and rude neighbors are the day to day advantages you'll enjoy here. They have a huge pool here which used to be great, now its like everything else here, very neglected, and full of inconsiderate people and incompetant staff. In addition we have a massive population of stray animals, which got worse after they sent out a notice saying they were going to take care of it'' You may also want to note that there is insuffiencient capacity in the dumpsters, which are constantly overflowing, a majority of the street lamps are out, and your complaints or problems will never be addressed or resolved. I am moving out myself, and would not recommend that anyone have to put up with this place.
