It's been a learning experience...

Corners of the walls in the master bedroom and walk-in closet are cracked.
Small spots of paint on the carpet when we moved in.
Melted vinyl tiles in the kitchen.
Bathtub looks as though it has been painted and the paint is chipping.
Vinyl tiles in the bathroom are loose.
The wall behind the toilet is soft and saggy.
Haven't had an issue with the creepy crawlies this year, but we had a massive problem with them last year. This year, we just have an issue with winged bugs. They seem to get in from the A/C unit in the wall.
The heating sucks, it's either too hot or too cold. If you turn the thermostat to the point to where it will kick on, it gets too hot. If you turn the thermostat down, even just a little, it kicks off all together and won't come back on even if it gets cold enough to see your breath.
The toilet gets backed up all of the time. A maintenance man came to do 'preventative' maintenance on the toilet and the problem actually got worse. It took over 24 hours to get someone to come out to fix it.
The garbage disposal and sink gets backed up all of the time.
The noise is horrible. The neighbors that we had when we moved in partied all of the time at all hours of the night. Complaints were made and it wasn't until several months later that the tenants left...and it didn't seem as though it was anything that Management did to them. The tenants left, leaving all of their stuff behind. In the summer, there were hordes of kids playing in the hallway rather than outside. Many complaints were made and the only thing ever done about it were notes being posted on the doors and board above the mail box.
When we signed our first lease, we were not told that there would be a rent increase when it came time to sign up again. It wasn't until it was time to sign our 2nd lease that we were told of this, in which case we couldn't afford to move.
Rent (649) water (40) DP&L (60 - 130)= $749 - $819

We will not be signing a 3rd lease as we can do much better for a lot less.
The scary thing is reading the other reviews here and reading that we may be charged for damage to this apartment that was here when we moved in.
You pay too much for what you get with this place.

We can certainly relate to everything you've said. They should be arrested for all of their shady behavior and deceptions. "Breckenridge"/"Connor Group"...shame on you !!!!
