I lived in Timber Hollow for almost 5 years (originally leased with Camco) and would still be living there if Camco owned. As soon as the Connor Group purchased the propery, things began going downhill. I had never had any issues with any of my neighbors; in fact, rarely heard them. Suddenly, I had a water buffalo living above me, who also enjoyed doing his laundry at 1 or 2 am and loud parties (spoke with management, they supposedly sent a "courtesy letter" my attempts to work this out with him on several occasions failed). It finally took me going upstairs, pounding on his door at approximately 2am and PROMISING him that the next time I had to come to his door, it would be with a baseball bat (I am 5'3" and under 120 lbs but I think he finally took me seriously).

Then a couple moved into the apartment above my next door neighbor and within 1 week, the police had to be called because of her screams; he was beating her, but she was drunk, talked back to the officers and was taken out in handcuffs. This happened on more than 1 occasion, and the office was notified of these occurances by my neighbor.

Final straw was the constant badgering from the office regarding signing my new lease (old one was not up for 4 months). When I requested a copy of new lease showing the terms and rent increase if any, I was told they could not supply until I allowed them in for an "inspection" and would not even tell me what my rent would be under the new lease. My apartment was always kept in good condition, but I felt that it was not necessary for their inspection until I had a copy of the new lease terms and made my decision as to renewing. They called at least 3-4 times a week, every week, until I decided it was time to move. I was told that I was a valuable resident and was asked what they could do to keep me. When I repeated some of the issues (noisy neighbor upstairs, police called for woman screaming, lack of general upkeep of grounds and of course, not giving me any info about new lease), she apologized, put me on hold, came back and apologized for all my problems and said they would move me to another apartment (at my cost of course) and would generously waive the $250 transfer fee. Are these people for real' I had lived there 5 years, loved my apt, and rather than deal with the problems want me to just move to another apt and that would take care of things' Oh, and let's not even go into the embarrassment of the clown/parrot/guy with Bengals jersey and SKI MASK over his face they set out on the corner trying to entice new residents....would that bring you in'''

Less than 2 weeks before my move date, I awoke on Sunday morning to damp carpet in the hallway and on the wall where the circuit breaker is located. I called the emergency line twice before I finally received a response (over 1 1/2 hrs). The maintenance guy did come out and was polite. My upstairs neighbor was out of town, so maintenance had to call someone to get approval to go in the apt (that's OK, understood). The water heater valve was broken, so he had to call AGAIN to get approval that this was an emergency and could replace the valve then and not have to wait until Monday(') He did receive approval to replace; I had errands to run, and left. When I returned approximately 1 hr later, the carpet in my hallway, bedroom, and floor in my laundry closet were saturated, as well as the bottom of the circuit breaker and the wall! Maintenance was gone, so called the emergency line AGAIN! He told me that he had mistakenly installed the valve wrong and it burst. He did get it repaired, but the carpet upstairs was also soaked. Guess what! He put a fan up there and left a note for my neighbor. He told me that I could check with the neighbor when he got home to see if I could use the fan to dry my carpet!!!! I was flabbergasted!!! He also told me that someone would be in within a couple of days to take care of any damage to the wall. Did it happen' What do you think'

I also called the office and requested a walk thru when I vacated the apartment before turning in my keys. It was agreed that I would be there on a certain day and time. When I got there, the office was closed for a meeting (2pm in the afternoon') and would reopen at 2:30. I ran an errand, came back at 2:30; not open. Finally got in about 2:45 and was told that they did not do move out walk thrus. When I stated that I had called and was reluctant to turn in my keys without, the girl walked into the "managers" office and they were whispering...with me in plain sight! Same girl walks out and tells me that manager will do a walk thru herself within 48 hours and I will be notified by mail within 30-60 days of the outcome. I again, expressed my concerns about leaving without a walk thru (you know, the old "he said/she said"), she when back in and the whispering commenced. OK, I am now really pissed and stated outloud that I was right there and the manager could speak directly to me. She looked surprised, smiled and invited me into her office. She then explained it was not their policy to do move out walk thrus and that she had a Franklin Planner and a schedule!!! It was all I could do not to laugh in this woman's face. I couldn't decide if I was supposed to be impressed that she had a Franklin Planner or if she was being condescending. Either way, I asked for a letter stating that my request for walk thru was denied. Again, not their policy. I did finally relinquish my keys, but not before I took date/time stamped photos (over 50) of every inch of my apartment.

I know that this is lengthy, but PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! be aware of how this company works before renting ANY property they own, and there are quite a few, especially in Fairfield! And for those of you who think this is sour grapes, just want you to know that 1)was NEVER late on my rent 2)quiet person who got along well with neighbors, previous management and maintenance 3)only had 1 rent increase of $10 with Camco and that was on my last lease 4) LOVED this community & would still be renting there had this not occurred. Still have friends who live there, but are just waiting for their lease to expire so they can get out also. It is really a crying shame what has happened to this once wonderful place to live.

I know I sure would take advice from someone who was going to threaten her neighbor with a "baseball bat." It sure does make the comment in point #3 where she states she got along well with her neighbors very believable.

Anyone reading this review: This is absolutely RIGHT ON! THe Connor Group is a bunch of slum lords! They buy property, jack up the rent, and suck the life out of the tennents, and blame the previous company who own it for EVERY LITTLE THING!!! Getting out of there and buying my own place was the best thing I ever did! What ever you do, DO NOT RENT from this place. OH and to the Anonymous person that commented, poor thing, you must have just moved in, awww, sad, give it a month and you'll be posting your grips!

thank your for your honesty! I just went to tour this apartment complex the other day and it was disgusting. The guy with the Bengal's shirt is still standing on the corner, by the way. After the tour, I was almost forced to fill out an application there because I couldn't take it with me "it's not our policy" and I also had to leave them two checks totaling $125 just to secure the specials they had going on. I had 24 hours to make up my mind and if I didn't get back to them by a certain time, they were going to cash my checks anyway. Needless to say, I am definitely not renting from them! Beware of this place!
