Feeling very "let down"

I've lived at VOW for a little over a year now. I renewed my lease early because during my first year, things that went wrong were so quickly taken care of. I've started discussing some of the minor things with them and now some major things that need to be repaired. I've talked to a few residents who have similar problems, with similar results. I'm very disappointed in how they "schmoozed" me to get me in & to get me to renew my lease. Now, my "luxury" townhouse seems to be falling apart. I don't know if they don't have qualified maintenance people or don't want to spend the money to uphold the luxury part of their advertising. Probably both. As far as the office staff, they have always been very nice to me & I do like them all. I just wonder if The Connor Group is behind the chintzy-band-aid repair operation. Some of my maintenance issues bring up a concern of safety/fire hazard to my family so I am seeking legal advice on breaking my lease. The maintenance seem to be doing the bare minimum to "get by", even down to clearing parking lots. Friday night there were several cars (myself included) getting stuck due to the very slick conditions. As far as the temperature in the water changing while you are showering...beware...if your neighbor 4 doors down flushes the toilet, you will be affected. Maintenance suggested to me to adjust the time of day I take my showers...isn't that funny' Well, lesson learned...I never looked on this website before, now I wish I had. So, for anyone out there doing some research, VOW is not a horrible place to live...but it's not the "resort-style" living they advertise. I mean, come on, how luxurious can a place be when they stick people out in the freezing cold wearing ridiculous costumes to advertise their "luxury" apartments' Spiderman is my favorite!

I do find those costumes to be a bit hilarious, but you are right. I have just moved out and the best part of VOW is the Pub, everything else is just a joke. If you like overpaying for outdated things then VOW is the place for you.

Good luck with the legal advise. My boyfriend nearly beat me to death and I wanted out of my lease so I could move probably back home at the time because I wasn't emotionally ready. I didnt' want to live in the same place because I feared for my life. They wouldn't let me out of the lease and a lawyer said I couldn't get out of it. They did move me to a new apartment but again my ex found me so what is the point. The staff was rude. Hopefully the one that acted all nice when it was time to sign a lease and totally rude on the phone is gone. she is the biggest one in the office not sure of her name RUDE!!! I moved to remington apartments and they are wonderful!

they actually told me about that when I moved in. Said they charged you a "relocation" fee. Which basically means they spent 15 minutes filling out new paper work for you. I bet it was like 500 bucks too. Idiots...
