Management & Upkeep IS VERY POOR!

From: -Anonymous-
Date posted: 6/14/2008
Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008

I stayed here for a year in 2003-2004 and for the most part the residents were older and mature. I moved back here May 2007 to present. I can see the difference.
-Management is very poor. When you have a complaint on a resident they say each resident is allowed 3 warnings. Well, I have had the same problem with this particular resident who slams his door shut at all hours of the evening. He also is getting into fights with his girlfriend at all hours of the night. He doesn't hold a conversation on his cell with a normal voice but instead is screaming or is very loud. You can hear him outside in the parking lot. He also has had fights with his girlfriend. There is another tenant where he plays his music loud after 11 p.m. that is on the 4th floor and I can hear him on the 6th. I have had to call the police on them and others who like to have parties after the bar scene until 4 a.m. on weekends. Many emails and calls to management and they are ignored. I have called the management company and did get a call back from the property manager after 2 weeks. I left him another message because his temporary manager hasn't replied back by email to my concerns. Very unprofessional. Month or so after having to call the police or report noise complaint on this guy I was told by management I could move. Why should I have too after just moving in' Why does this guy and others get more than 3 warnings with no resolve of this behavior' Why is it the mature professionals, families and elderly have to suffer with this'
-A new tenant decided to use a grill on his balcony on the 1st floor. I though the building was on fire because I can see the smoke come over my 6th floor balcony. I went down to the tenant and told them you can't do this. I told him that is why they have grilles around the pool. The flame was so high. I called the emergency # and reported this. I also emailed management the next day but never heard back from them after several attempts.
-The building (20110 Lorain Road/Bldg 3) is very outdated and old. The kitchen cabinets are very small. The carpets in the hallway is dirty with stains. Avoid the side of the building that is facing Lorain Road or the parking lots. Way too much noise from people coming in from bar scene shouting or drunk. Avoid the 6th floor because the pipes are small where the steam heat often doesn't allow the apartment to be comfortable but rather cold. During the summer the building is often hot because they have the heat on. The elevators are so small where some of the furniture won't even fit inside when moving in or out.
-I can see why the elderly have moved out. I have seen so many leave after the 1st year because of the age of the building, management, noise etc...
-I pay to much to live like this. Being waken up like this in the middle of the night hours before hacing to get ready for work have to live like this' Very hard to go back to sleep from this. Again, pay way too much for this!
-I will not be renewing my lease and ever move back into this place. I will tell my family, friends and co-workers never entertain to call this place home.
