We've been here a little over a year and for the most part its not too bad. The interstate is loud, but you'll get used to it. The security leaves a lot to be desired. There were several car break-ins during a 2-3 month stretch. During that stretch my car was broken into twice. Management started a "Neighborhood Watch" program...which went nowhere. As far as I know there was only one meeting. The maintenance staff seems to do their jobs really well, but they are understaffed and sometimes they take a few days to get to the problem. The landscaping and design of Village East is very attractive. The 2 swimming pools are nice, but watch out for skinny-dippers at 3:30 in the morning. I'm serious. We also had a wood roach problem. Wood roaches are different and not as numerous as cockroaches, but pretty nasty nontheless. We bombed our apartment twice and a "bug" man sprayed several times before the problem was eliminated. This review may sound a bit negative, but Village East is probably the best in the Middletown/Franklin area.
