Don't get hooked on the outter shell!! Community is beautiful, pleasant, and in great location BUT it all is ruined by the terrible head management and many nuisances that surface only after you've lived in your unit for a few months (leaks, running toilets, chipping paint, rusting doors). Renter's beware!!!! There's no follow-up nor follow-thru. I would describe these units as the "money pit" & be thankful you don't own this property. Office hours are conveniently 10 -6pm, which leave you calling all day to leave a message. It's quicker for you to do the repairs on your own. Add those issues to the forever increasing water bill. On avg you'll pay $45-55.00 per month for a 2 person household , along with $10 to drive your own trash to the other side of the complex to dump!!!!! They'd rather have inspections to catch those violating the pet rules than complete service requests that are weeks outstanding.

There's actually new management now, and i've noticed things getting better. I've never had a maintenance request that's taken them more than 2 days to fix. With the water thing, that's not the apartment's fault; the more you use, the higher the bill will be! My bill hasn't ever been that high! And you have to pay for trash service to get the city to come and pick it up, you'd pay the same if you had a house of your own.

Actually -- your individual usage has nothing to do with it. The apt explains that it is all divided amongst the tenants (amt per household) excluding the community usage (landscaping/pool/etc...). I travel quite a bit and in some months where i was literally out ot town for over two weeks -- the bill actually jumped or remained the same in many months. Water rates did increase for Gahanna but it would be more efficient to have each tenant responsible for their own usage.. many communities transition to that method. Surprisingly the homes just across the street and individual's i know in homes.. pay 170-200 every 3 months for 2-3 bdrm / huge yards, basement, bigger households than a 2bdrm townhome occupied by 2. It's usually something that is annoying everywhere but to each their own... just know you've been worned...
