Although the design is open, the materials are rather sub-par (cheap cabinetry and doors/trim). The same rent in a metropolitan city only a couple of hours away got me a gas fireplace, crown moulding, real oak cabinets, extra large fenced & covered patio and more common area amenities than offered here. I still like the location and the property management team is usually helpful and quite pleasant. Lately though the overall standards of the complex are going downhill. Everything from quality of upkeep to the quality of the tenants they are leasing to has declined. The residents were mostly a mature professional crowd when I first moved here, but now its becoming an immature, litterbug, party crowd. They want the prestige of a nice address but don't want to leave their 'shout from the balcony and blast the stereo til 2am' behavior behind at the frat house. There were also a number of domestic dispute issues in building near mine, but those tenants finally moved out in July after almost a year of the neighbors complaining. Also, the pool was not maintained as well this summer as last...it got kind of slimey regularly. Hopefully given the present housing market there are more renters to choose from now and they will begin to be a bit more selective in who they choose to rent to. It would be nice to reclaim Parkway Village as the upscale, professional environment they were once able to market themselves as.
