They go over things with a fine tooth comb and if you even leave a speck of dirt you will be charged. It is an unfair practice and I would strong suggest you take pictures before you move in and before you leave and go through inspection. I didn't and they charged me $200 dollars over my already $500 deposit. They charge for every little item that is not the way they want it. Great people and place to live until you leave and then they completely turn on you. Beware!

Our records indicate that our resident did a walkthrough on June 30th,with the property manager. At that time she admitted that she smelled pet urine in the apartment, and she gave up her dog because she could not train it. Pet damage is not normal wear and tear and therefore payment is the responsibility of the resident. We do have pictures available for viewing.

While Brittany Bay may be in the right in this particular case, given the additional info about the dog, I know that multiple people have had this legitimate complaint. Even once one of their own staff members sided with a tenant on the fact that there were no grounds for charging upon moveout. Unfortunately, the staff member who was being honest was the one that got in trouble. I've been warned by multiple people that they run this scam where they automatically charge you for something so they don't have to return the deposit, banking on people not taking pictures or just letting it go because it costs more to get an attorney to get them to stop this scam. They have new management, so hopefully their "unwritten policy" has been changed to be more honest. :)
