Terrible Maintenance

Me and a few of my roommates lived here for 12 months and were very disappointed.

First of all, when they paint the apartment, they leave the painters tape on the wall and paint over it. There are many places where they did a half-job work on the paint. The floors looked like they were barely cleaned and needed to be replaced. A lot of cuts on the carpets and kitchen/bathroom floors with torn floors.

The windows are really old and are hard to open. The overall appliances are out of date and need to be updated.

One big problem with this apartment complex is the maintenance / managers here. At the beggining of the lease, we made a list of about 20-25 things that needed fixed at the apartment. They finally fixed one thing 2 months later after sending in the request to them. By the time we moved out a year later, they only fixed about 3-5 of those things. Another thing is that they have only have 1 maintenance guy onsite to fix any problems.

Another big problems is the air conditioner. When it came summer time, there were a lot of problems throughout the entire complex with their air conditioner. All of the air conditioners are old and they will try anything they can so they won't have to replace it. It seemed like when we put in a request to repair our air conditioner, they come in 2 days later (it is 90' outside the entire week) and replace one thing and says that its fixed. We then turn it on and it works for 2 days. Then we called them again and they tried to fix it and the same thing happened. By this time, we have wasted about $400 on the electricity bill JUST on the air conditioner because of the constant usage of trying to cool the apartment from 90' down to comfortable level. The coolest we could ever get the apartment during the summer time was 78'. We had it constantly running for 2 days and it wouldn't go below 78'.

This air conditioner unit is the old standard where it is acutally illegal to install them today. So they will try everything to not replace it.

Another problem is the safety. It is close to the high school which means that there will be a lot of thefts. Numerous of cars have been broken into during our experience at the complex. One of my roommates cars was broken into and the apartment complex did nothing about it. They didn't ask for more security or anything like that. In one night, they had a report of about 8-10 cars being broken into.

The garages are a joke. If you have one garage, you can get into anyone else's by simply climb the thin wall, move the wire a little, and you have access to everyone's car in that garage building. The garage doors are a mess also. Most of them have a hard time open and closing. The garage we had went down a little, then went straight back up. We had to try to close it a few times before it would actually close. They also tried to fine us also for the garage door openers since they weren't working properly. We told them that we put that also on the things to fix also.

Another thing is when we were moving out. The things that we asked to replace at the beginning of the lease, they asked for US to pay for the damage and we told them that we asked them to fix it at the beginning of the lease. **We had to replace a blind and we asked them over the phone what the dimensions the blinds were and he got angry and yelled at us, "I am sick and tierd of hearing about this blinds! I will go over there and get the measurements right now!" And he did this in a very demanding and angry voice.**

If you are considering this place, please, please look at every detail about the actual apartment you will be moving into. I highly recommend to not move here because of the poor management and maintenance crew. The managers there will do as little as possible and there aren't enough maintenance people to fix all of the problems that this apartment complex has. I am really sad to see this apartment complex the way it is now because it was once THE apartment complex to live at for a long time. It has really gone down hill and I hope to see some improvements on this apartment complex so that people like me and my rommates won't have as many problems as we had living there.
