Since moving out, I have totally changed my opinion of the whole company. We paid our last month's rent, moved out, and then get a COLLECTIONS notice for over $800. Remember those 'coupons' that decrease your monthly rent' Well they took them back and said we owed them because we 'moved out early'. We had paid our whole last month's rent, then moved out on the 15th. They gave us BACK half a month of rent and then SAID WE MOVED OUT EARLY! After hassling with the collections company for a whole month, I finally got to a supervisor who got to the bottom of it and agreed that it was a shady charge, then forgave the 'debt'. Unfortunately, this was after I already got a negative report on my credit. The settlement letter I got said it will take 30-90 days to have the negative line removed. WHAT A BUNCH OF BULL! I loved that apartment, despite all the issues, it was a nice two bed two bath apartment. I lived there for THREE YEARS and referred many many classmates here, and then they totally screwed me. In this day and age where credit scores mean everything and I'm trying to buy a house, I really CANNOT afford to have a negative report placed on my credit. The building was nice but the management (not the girls in the office, but Preferred Living) is very very shady. My advice to you would be read every single word of your lease and if you get a collections notice, fight it.

This is the first complex I've lived in where I've actually become friends with our neighbors all around. The apartment itself is very nice and any maintenance issues inside our apartment have always been taken care of promptly. The key pads have never worked the way we were told that they would (everyone has the same code, and even the pizza guys know it, so don't bank on the coded doors keeping intruders out). They take care of the landscaping but have pretty poor snow plowing and maintenance of sidewalks in the winter (they're solid ice). Fitness machines are newer than I would have expected and still work well. Office staff is constantly in a state of flux. I never see the same people twice, but they're all nice, even if they really don't know what they're doing... We haven't had any major screw ups that make me want to move out. The apartment is nice enough that it's worth the ditzy office ladies sending us notices that our water bill is overdue when we haven't even been billed for it yet... At least they recognized that it was a mistake and prompty apologized. One thing, though - if you're planning to move in, make sure that your bedroom wall is not up against your neighbor's laundry room. Trust me, at some point they will do laundry at 3am and you will have a long noisy morning...

they just make-up move-out fees...they are total fraud...they need a class-action lawsuit brought against them for all the bogus fees...a former employee said out of all the apt. complexes they have owned since 1975, they have never returned a deposit. I suppose this is why they give so much money to the Ohio bar association.
