Wow. This place...
I need to figure out what to say. We can start at the beginning.
I wanted to rent a 2 bedroom apartment. I took into account it's
an old complex, seems 60's-ish, mostly wood construction. So the
2bdr didn't work out but I got a townhome. Bad from the start.
CONSTRUCTION: looks as though it's been put together by a ten
year old with a staple gun. (All of our cabinets are on crooked
in the kitchen) Under my kitchen sink--horrors. I had to
completely redo everything under there to cover up the gaping holes
that led to...outside'! We've had the ceiling leak...6...7 times'
Maintenance has come every time, but we usually had to bug the
staff about it. Neighbor's toilet backed up into ours...ewwww.
This went on for a week and a half, roto rooter was involved and
everything.
The carpet is cheap, and carpet fibers are still coming out
even though I've lived here for 10 months. The windows...Just
don't expect to open them unless you want bugs in.
BUGS!! When I moved in I killed 3 oversized spiders
a day (for 2 months) until I got wise and fumigated the
entire house. I tried to tell management: They won't touch it
unless it's cockroaches or termites (just today my husband glimpsed
a termite exterminator van coming into the complex--watch out!)
I've seen more bugs crawl under our door than I care to list, and
it's all thanks to poor construction listed above. There are
House Centipedes. If you don't know what they are, look them up,
they will satisfy your every alien-bug fear.
SAFETY: Insufficient locks, and there is always some kind of fight going
on outside on the sidewalks...shady people wander around. Have
never felt quite safe here. Lots of police, through the Chimneys
(next door) and section 8 housing. I don't like to walk around alone
at night.
NO INSULATION. Our electric bills this winter were hideous,
I'm talking almost $200 most of the time! Nevermind it's a
bigger apartment, the heat would run constantly because there are
cracks around every window and door that let in significant drafts,
enough to blow papers across the floor (this happened).


I won't go on much more, but this is what I will say, we are
calling the health department when we move out. This place
is unsafe and falling apart, needs to be torn down and the
neighborhood revamped. Just to be sure I'm not being "emotional"
or "too harsh" I'm having someone else read this...

As a staff we do our best to promptly take care of any maintenance issue. Fox Hunt is an older community, so we do have maintenance issues that arise. In this case, there was a main drain line back up from another unit that effected the unit next door. Roto rooter was called to address the problem and it was addressed immediately. It is the Fox Hunt policy to respond to emergencies immediately, and any other non- emergency maintenance request within a 48 hours. We also call back on completed work orders to ensure the quality of our service. I apologize to this past resident for their percieved lack of quality service. I completely agree with this tenant. She was dead on with how the construction is. My boyfriend could do better with less. Everything breaks and I have even been told by another tenant that they were told that the maintenance crew did not have the equipment or stuff to fix anything in their apartment. I am sl glad that I got out of there and will never recommend this place to anyone.
