If you work downtown, keep looking. . .

I have been living in the Castlewood Apartments for a while now and all I hear is noise. They have great move in rates for the first year which clinches the deal until you move in. As soon as you're in, all you hear are your neighbors. You hear their telephones, you hear them having conversations at normal tones of voice in their apartments either beside you, under you or above you, you hear their televisions, you hear them walking down the hallways, you hear them doing their business and then flushing their toilets, you hear their washers, you will be awakened by their disposals, doors slamming, etc. The list goes on. The place is not falling apart, it just wasn't built soundproof the first time around.
The one thing that is absolutely wonderful are the maintenance staff. The maintenance is on top of everything -- if the management tells them there is something to do -- and, therein lies the problem. The management seems to be slightly more concerned with the new move-ins than the actual tenants.
If you don't mind listening to everything that goes on around you, and you enjoy religious radio programming in your lobby, knock yourself out and move in. Otherwise, run, and do it fast!
