I lived through both management changes and the only thing i got was a garage spot. New and old management did not clean or replace the carpet which has cat urine under it in the living room from the tenant before me. new management walked into my apartment without notifying me so they could drop off a new lease for me to sign. I've fixed the bathroom sink when i moved in that had leaks and sealed cracks near the windows. With all said and done the new management will not give me my deposit back because they said i was late with giving them my move out notice. I tried to deliver in person but they are not always there and there are no posted business hours on site. Not a pleasant experience.

Been there, done that. First with the building owner & his evil leasing agent who found it too hard to lift a finger for tenants after the lease was signed, then with 3 Streets North property management company who hired the same lazy, complaining broad (company now out of business, gee, imagine that). Always-always give notice by Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested.

LOL. Why not just give proper notice to move out, then you would have nothing to worry about. That is pretty standard with ANY building you lease from.

I got my deposit back within 2 weeks! But I did give proper notice. It says right in your lease that you have to give 30 days written notice. Why didn't you put it in with your rent or just drop it in the rent drop box in time?? Sounds like your fault!
