I have lived here for over a year. We moved here because I travel alot and my wife is home alone during that time. When we moved in, our rental agent made a big deal out of living in a gated complex, explaining to me that the two sets of gates that lead into the complex were closed at 10 pm each night. We were given two remotes to put in our cars, and we would need them to enter the gates after dark. We were given a quick lesson on how to use the keypad at the gates to allow guest to enter after hours, explaining that guests would enter in our phone number and we could view them on our TV screen as they stopped at the locked gate. For the past 15 months, those gates have never worked properly, they DO NOT lock after hours and the complex IS open to anyone at any hour. We have NEVER had to use our remotes to enter the property, so if safety is your concern, do not let the rental agents tell you about the gated community because it is a joke. Most of the time, the closed circut TV is also not working, so anyone at anytime can come on to the propety. We live right next to one of the designated dog areas. The lease states that all animal owners must pick up after their pets. We view numerous people who take their dogs to the area, but very few of them pick up after their pets. Last summer, the smell was awful. When we complained to management, we were told we had to 'catch them in the act' before management would do anything. I ask you, is it MY job to video these people with their pets, or is it managements job to moniter the situation. We were even able to provied management with the name of some of the poop violators, but management did NOTHING about it. If you move here, make sure you do not have a pet area close by, as the summer months will be horrible. Also, do not believe them when they say that no one is allowed to have animals tied outside the apartments. We know of numerous owners who do just that. Management turns a blind eye to this sort of thing. It just would not be hard for the maintainence crew to view this as they drive around, once again, the rules are only as good as the lease they are printed on. Cable is another problem, if you do not like Time Warner, you may be out of luck. If your apartment does not face Southeast, you WILL be out of luck as other cable companies cannot put their satelite anywhere. The apartments are wired for Time Warner, so the choice has already been made for you. SROlYjGrgm2VnM-SactV
