We lived at Nantucket for just over a year. The move-in deal was very competitive and we were offered a 6 month extension at that price which was actually very nice because it gave us a chance to plan and eventually purchase a home. Our rent was going to increase significantly which I will admit was a bit perplexing considering we were tenants in good standing, paying our rent on time or early every month, took excellent care of our space, and so on--so why no deal to keep us'' Regardless, as someone who has lived in a number of these types of communities, Nantucket was without question the nicest. Seeing as how this is meant to be a forum for people to decide whether a place is right for them or not here are my pros and cons:
Pros: Clean apartments, unique layouts, lots of space, fairly updated, maintenance was timely and pleasant, best fitness center I ever ever seen in a community, neighbors are for the most part very friendly
Cons: Overall exterior appearance, landscaping, etc. declined slightly since previous maintenance director left, gym and pool are, at times, the "Free" Landen Community Center--clearly not everyone there pays to be there which is completely unacceptable for the $$ residents pay for those privileges, dog poop absolutely everywhere which, by the way, is not the staff's fault but that of LAZY dog owners.

Is there some type of "member" fee in addition to the monthly rent prices that are posted online?
