I moved in here last year, and it was fantastic. Sure, there are the average problems you get with an apartment, but it was really nice overall. Now things around here are hectic. Parking is becoming a big issue, and it doesn't help when the management staff lets one of their vehicles take up five or six spots overnight by parking sideways near the buildings. A new company recently bought the building, and they are pretty rude compared to the previous staff, at least in my dealings. When discussing lease resigning, we were laughed at and told we weren't paying nearly what the apartment was worth, because we got a good deal when we signed. They're raising the base price of all of the apartments by ALOT. Other issues I have now include:
-The rule about cleaning up after your dog is NOT enforced AT ALL. There was a time when warning signs were put up, but they are ignored by a select group, so there is poop all over the grass.
-All of the new construction all around is a nightmare. They tore out a little tree area and are building (I think) condos there. While I know this isn't the apartment's fault, your car gets FILTHY from all of the dirt.
-Maintenence is quick to respond, but they just do a cover job. Our tub had moldy caulk, and they just caulked over it rather than remove it. We had a window leak and make the carpet wet and slightly moldy underneath, and they caulked the window and did nothing about the mess on the carpet.
-Trash and garbage can gather in areas, especially around the little lakes. Piles of cigarette butts, candy wrappers, and beer cans do not look good, especially after a week.
-Traffic in this part of town is already horrible, and with a SuperWalMart scheduled to go up around the corner, it's going to get worse. There will be Homerama Homes behind the complex, condos in the middle, and WalMart to the side. Though I realize it's not the apartment's fault, it makes paying over $800 (asking price for a plain one bedroom!!) far too steep.
Again, this place started out strong, and I'm hoping the new management will realize they can't get new tenants to pay that much money for a lacking apartment community.
