Fair Honest Review

This review is as fair and honest as I can possibly be. I have lived here for 13 months with very few problems. My only complaint is the master bedroom is never cool in the summer or warm in the winter. The staff brought in a space heater, after the baby was born, for the room and it helped alot in the winter.
My biggest concern is the increase in rent after my lease expired. My rent increased from $812 for a 2 bedroom 2 bath to $1180. Because I was such a good resident, they gave me a special that reduced it to $1,030. That is still a huge increase in rent. I asked specifically when I moved in would my rent increase to more than $850 and they no.
My family has really loved our time here and we feel a bit cheated and disappointed by the rental increase. Please be careful and get everything in writing.

I could have written this review! This was almost identical to the situation that I experienced. I don't really expect too much from an apartment.. just a place to lay my head... but during the exact say time period our rent was increased drastically as well. I was able to work out an agreement with Nexus and did stay. Fortunatly "Tommy" is no longer running the show and New management has stepped in. I have just resigned with hopes that the new management will turn things around.

The staff lied their asses of to me also when I first rented out my appartment here and they told me that my rent would never increase more than $30 a month each year so after my first year lease was up I got a letter stating that my rent would now be $300 a month more and so did my 3 neighbors and everyone else around here was flat out LIED TO ! So anything said to means nothing at all people only if it is in writing. Don't belive a darn thing they tell you get it in writing.

it IS in writing, right there in the lease YOU signed. I got a free rent special when i moved in, and when i signed i was told that 'special' would be gone if i signed any other lease. meaning my rent would go up a good amount. you need to plan for what the real rent is not what special deal you get at first... specials are to rent apartments, just like when anything else goes on sale to move inventory. You need to pay attention when you sign a legal document. There is no free ride. nobodys fault but your own.
