Don't Move Here!

When we moved in, Olde Towne seemed to be a great place to live.
We paid a $200 deposit and our first month's rent, along with gas and pet fees.
Things went well for the first month, until we received a letter from the office management stating that we didn't fully pay our first month's rent. It turned out they had underpriced it. So we had to pay them a $50 late fee for their own mistake!
It happened twice in a row! The next month, the same thing. They had recalculated the monthly and it was in error by $20, so we again had to pay another $50 late fee! Our dishwasher caught fire, the air conditioning unit failed during the hottest days of the year. I could go on. The place was trouble. The fireplaces haven't been cleaned in years. I called the office and asked to see when they'd last been swept, and she said they didn't have it on record. After all of this, they raised our rent!
The fire extinguisher in our hallway has no key and hasn't been recharged in over 2 years. The parking area is a mess, beer bottles, smashed fruit, baby diapers and broken glass scattered everywhere. They didn't fix the exterior lights for over a month and it was pitch black after 9 O' Clock at night.
They insist that under new management everything will go better, but even now as I say this, they're insisting we didn't pay our first month's rent. That was over a year ago and under different management! So you're getting the same old, same old with these people. One more thing, to those who are disabled or have difficulty walking. Their first floor apartments are actually up 13 steps, and the hallways are poorly lit. Keep that in mind if they tell you "it's only a couple steps".
