I went to this property to look at the apartments, everithing was fine, but there was a problem!!! It look like YOU MUST HAVE A BRAND NEW CAR TO MOVE INTO THIS APARTMENTS!!! ISN'T THIS THE MOST STUPID THING YOU EVER HEARD!!!! WELL IS TRUE!!! I don't think they can legally rejected you as an aplicant just because of a damm car!!! I'm very dissapointing of this place!!!! the property I currently live is much nicer and much better and have never had a problem like this!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY THAT DOES NOT OWN A BRAND NEW CAR!!!!
an upset possible resident.

Actually they only ask that you don't have a rusted up beat up car. It can be old, it just has to be in good condition meaning all four hubcaps, etc. There's nothing wrong with that.

I like a place having a car policy, it weeds out the trash. I happened to live in Compton Lake for five years, their maintenace and mgmt was questionable at times, but overall it was a good experience. The only reason I moved is because I moved in a new place with my boyfriend. You allow trashy looking cars, it breeds trashy neighbors and problems. If you don't take pride in your car, how do you expect anyone to think you'd take pride in your apartment, cleanliness and community in which you live?

I am considering looking at Compton Lakes for rental come September and I personally would call this discrimination. Not everyones priorities are materialistic. I wrecked my car a few years back and have a definate dent on the drivers side that I never had repaired. The cost to fix it was an estimated $3000. It isn't that I can't afford to have it fix but I would rather use my money for more effective, life changing, causes rather than cosmetic purposes. I do a lot of work with a school in Kenya, Afica and that is where I deem my money to be better spent. This policy and the comments above really makes me question both the facility and the people living it. Someone referred to it as weeding out the trash, what is your definition of trash? Because mine is people who would rather spend their money on cosmetic, materialistic items than helping those in need and those who turn away the less fortunate rather than offering a hand. I'm just saying.
