Rent is one of the highest in the county/city, water service is a rip off as a company in Chicago,Ill. buys water from the City Of Mount Vernon and they charge you $6.00 a month to "manage". Used to own a house here and paid less in 3 months than I now pay for a month. Apartment area bland, no rec house, swimming pool, laundry area. Poor drainage on heavy rains, very windy and quite a lot of noise from shopping center 1/4 mile from back of complex. Mail delivery to fromt of property, no door or building delivery. Apartments are nice, fairly new, can hear your neighbors easily. They (management) says to make it like your home, you can on the inside, but the lawns belong to them, not permitted to do any major decorating, small porch, hardly big enough for 2 children, let alone two adults. Overall a nice place, but other locations that managment company has in same population areas have rec houses, pools, and more flexability. ALso NO Garage or outdoor sales permitted, lots of bug problems wasps, hornets, lots of standing water for mosquitos to grow.
