Another review posted here prompted me to write. Even though these apartment buildings are brand new (I moved into one that had not been occupied), I soon learned that that is not a feature or a benefit. Apparently the pipes had burst in my building before occupancy, and now I can't get the mildew odor out of the place, especially the pantry. The construction is abominable...if this were a homebuilder, and I were the buyer, I would have had them in court in no time. There are nail pops galore, bowed walls, lumps under the carpeting, and something under the tile in the bathroom and kitchen that is poking through the tile. They replaced a few of the tiles, but there are more that have ruptured. This is all brand new!!!!! I would never hire the contractors who built this place in a million years.
The patio door never latched properly, so a piece of wood secures that door. Repeated attempts to fix it didn't seem to help. It finally locks now, but the last handyman put the screen door back in backwards. And I don't trust the lock.
The corners of the walls are rusting. I had them repair them and paint when I first moved in, but they missed a few places. They also ruined the carpet by tracking glue from the tile replacement on to it, and now the dirt won't come out. (Even though they came back and cleaned it up). There is ONE maintenance worker who is worth his salt, but I am sure he is overwhelmed with things to do and can't do everything.
And don't plan on parking a truck in those garages, unless you have WD-40 and a crowbar! The garage door jams in its track, too, and I have had them out twice to repair the opener. At one point they had let it go a month, and I tried to ask for restitution, but to no avail.
The only positive is that the appliances were brand new, too, so they work fine.
Residents are not very friendly, nor do they adhere to community rules. Dogs poop wherever, and the owners do not pick up the offerings. I have seen people let their dogs pee on other people's newspapers. People race motorcycles and terrain vehicles through the streets; others blast music past 10Pm; and noone pays attention to parking lines on the street. Two parking spaces' Oh, no, there's room for four. Good luck getting out from between the bozos who crammed in behind you and in front of you. Some even park where parking is not allowed.
Need to take the trash out' Pile it up outside the dumpster, because there is no way for anyone to compact what is in there to be able to add more. That's a lovely sight and smell in the morning, and I'm sure it isn't very sanitary.
The management isn't very experienced. Renewal notices go out, but there is no mention of having to have the manager present to sign the lease. You don't find that out til you go in on Saturday (the only day you can) and find that she isn't there and you have to wait. And important notices get put on the apartment doorknob, so if a good stiff wind comes up, you may never know that they lost your rent check or that your lease is up for renewal.
They have heat pumps here. Mine didn't work when I moved in. It ran constantly instead of monitoring the air flow. Heat would not flow consistently. They came to repair it, but didn't make a difference. Finally, 4 months later, another complaint brought out the knowledgeable guy who was able to fix the unit.
Lawn care usually means there will be grass clippings blown up against the entrances. And don't expect to feel safe during the icy winter times...it is almost as if they are producing ice on the streets to make it less safe for residents.
I don't have kids, but I would not let them play outside here...the motorists make it unsafe. I do NOT recommend this location. Buy a house! You'll have fewer headaches.
