Problems since the day we moved in

Where to begin' Before we moved in, we looked at inside apartments (without private entrances). This once beautiful complex where ------- and Browns used to live is now an embarrassing sty. For the amount of rent paid, you'd think they could handle painting the slovenly steps and replacing some hole ridden carpets.

When we moved in, our apartment was filthy. After fighting with Karen, the awful teeny bopper manager, we finally got it cleaned... or so we thought. The maintenance team had come in and spray painted over the dirt. This resulted in spray paint all over some of our belongings. Karen's reaction' "Take a wet cloth to it."

As others have stated, the walls are paper thin. Our downstairs neighbors smoked and our living room constantly smelled like smoke. We could hear neighbors fighting and yelling at all hours. The air (I believe it's electric') was horrible. We would turn the air up to 80 degrees and the bedroom would still be mid-60s, nevermind the freezing master bathroom. If you live above a garage, your rooms will always be near the outside temperature becuase the "close your garage door" rule is never enforced. And when residents come home and park in their garage, no matter what hour, you will hear every little thing in that garage. Slamming car doors and closing and opening garage doors result in a shaking room. I wouldn't recommend even looking at this place if you have a baby -- they will never sleep and therefore neither will you. You will hear trains and planes and a nearby high school's early morning marching band practices. Be aware that quite a few apartments also overlook a cemetary.

Parking is horrible as well. We constantly had to park buildings over and walk through snow and rain to our home.

The maintenance team cannot be trusted. One day I was not home and they were not scheduled to come over. I had my dogs locked in one part of the house (the second bedroom and the bathroom). "Somehow" the one dog got out and chased the visitor all over. After much hemming and hawing, he admitted he had used our bathroom. At another incident, we specified a time for the maintenance team to come do their work. They showed up 3 hours early and when I said they needed to come back, one (Bob) threw a hissy fit: "Are you kidding me' WHAT'! We're here NOW!" This is ridiculous customer service.

The one saving point is the grounds. The pool area is beautiful (even if often filled with annoying teens). But that doesn't make up for all the apartment problems. After all, you live inside not out on the well groomed lawn. The grounds however, are not well lit. If you have a dog, make sure you let them out well before it gets dark.

I could go on, but you get the point: this place is definitely NOT worth what you pay for it. Find a place with a good management team, a maintenance team you can trust, and a clean and well repaired apartment.

The pool is facing the cemetary as well! I found that rediculous especially considering they did not show us the pool from the angle in which you see the cemetary on the tour. The pool may be beautiful, but after using it just two or three months, I got a horrible rash all over my hands which still has not gone away since last summer. The appearance at first glace is beautiful, but after living there for the past two years, I'm waiting on pins and needles for my lease to be up!!!!!!!!!! (In May!! YAY!! :D)
