I lived at Dover Farms for three years, and saw ownership change three times. The latest corporation, JVM, is a total joke. They increased rent. For this we get roofs that leak, siding that comes off and is not replaced, broken steps, broken, overflowing trash dumpsters (hello' If the dumpsters are consistently overflowing perhaps it would stand to reason that you need to schedule more pickups or put more bins in place...). The grounds are badly maintained (except at the clubhouse and entrance to the community). I was embarrassed on several occasions when guests commented on the unkept beds. They also refuse to heat the hallways outside the units in the winter. There is literally ice on the stairway windows.

At least the old management team tried to keep up, and you got the feeling they were on the residents side, not simply attempting to suck up to corporate. Also, they lie. Blatantly. The new property manager out and out told me that if I didn t have something in writing it didn t mean a thing, basically admitting that she lied to me.

Also, I referred two tenants for which I was qualified for referral fees. One, they paid, after conveniently losing the paperwork for six months, the other, I just gave up on after several phone calls to Tina Roberts went unanswered. Come to think of it, it s no wonder the woman can t manage to do her job, since she was always in a meeting when I called. ( Funny, I had a friend call two minutes later, inquiring to rent, and she was all of a sudden available!)

This community used to be beautiful. I was proud to live there. Now, just say I m glad I don t, and my friends who still live there are not planning to renew their leases.

a lot of companies require all complaints in writing so they can have proof if a higher up in the company starts asking questions. also, if the problem is consistant then the office will have all of your letters to show for it, if it was to go as far as the person causing the trouble getting evicted, your letters helped get them out and solve the problem.
