Mr. Krantz, it is crystal clear that you don't care about the tenants in your properties, and don't allow the very capable manager to make this a safe place to live. It looks like you must think it's God's responsibility to send sunshine and warmth to remove the snow, rather than you being sure the properties are equipped to keep the tenants safe.

The snow/ice problems are terrible, and this last storm was the worst. Somebody should be out there continually clearing sidewalks during snow storms to prevent ice from building up. When snow isn't removed from the walks right away, people tromp over it and pack it down, and it ends up becoming icy and very dangerous. I have fallen on sidewalk ice myself, twice. Even scarier - after this last snow, you couldn't even exit the buildings from the stairway doors, because of snow piled up in front of them. What if we had a fire, and couldn't exit from the center of the building'

Shadow Creek should have it's own small plow or sidewalk brushing machine so someone on staff can keep the walkways always safe for tenants. The big storm was 5 days ago, and you STILL can't find the sidewalks around most of the buildings.

Tenants pay a lot to live here, and good maintenance should be expected. As I was attempting to shovel a long path between the building and my garage, people who came past me seemed angry that I, as an older female tenant, had to shovel at all(and I really should not have been doing that, because I have back and shoulder problems) and many of them stated flatly that they won't renew leases and strongly recommended that I don't either. As long as Karen is still here I will probably renew, because there are still many plusses here, and yet I feel extremely frustrated.

I'm not writing this to complain about on-site management, because I KNOW that Karen's capable hands are hopelessly tied. She is a terrific manager and a great person. The problem lies with the ownership, and it seems clear that you do not care to do what it takes to make your properties safe and inviting places to live.

If I were you, Mr. Krantz, I would knock $100 off everyone's rent this month, as a gesture of apology for the major inconvenience and unsafe conditions you have allowed, along with your pledge to make this a safer place to live.

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!! I HOPE HE AND HIS BROTHER ACTUALLY READ THIS!! This really can be a wonderful place to live, poor snow removal aside. Most residents are friendly and considerate, the grounds are clean (besides the snow), and apartments are good size. I hope for next year, there will be a new snow plow service in place.

I think that it's time for everyone to stop protecting Karen. I like her, I really do. However, she failed to perform an essential duty of her job, which was contacting the plowing company to come out here. Yes, I realize that she was on vacation. However, I find it hard to believe that neither Carl nor the other other maintenance man did not have it in their power to contact the plowing company and have them come out. I also find it hard to believe that neither of them could have called her cell phone and asked her to call the company from where she was at. This is clearly a derilection of duty. Secondly, Krantz Management has no reason to legally provide us with plowing services because the Ohio Supreme Court upheld legislation that allows property owners to not be held liable for snow removal on their property. The only thing that will talk in this situation is money. So, if you are so opposed to the conditions you need to not renew your lease. Which again, doesn't accomplish much because there will be some other unfortunate individuals who will move in anyway. If you want legal action against the management company you need more grounds than lack of snow removal. Currently, you will need to have suffered personal injury and more than $2k in damages for anyone to consider a class action suit against the property. I know, because I tried. Bon Chance.

The Krantz brothers are NOT concerned with anything but keeping $ in their pockets. I have lived here for almost 7 years...I know, I ask myself the same thing...however, thankfully the on-site management has improved. The owners are a different story!!! A couple of years ago, when we were in the middle of a heat wave, our air-conditioning stopped working. After multiple calls, i finally contacted our owner. He indicated that he can't control mother nature and if I don't like the fact that maintenance here is poor, then I should move out and BUY a Home..."Then you can take care of it YOURSELF!!!" What a guy!!!! Oh and as for the snow removal...IT HAS BEEN THE SAME EVERY YEAR THAT I HAVE LIVED HERE!!! DON'T EXPECT CHANGES ANYTIME SOON!! All that I can suggest is to flood him with phone calls/complaints. Maybe then he will take a hint!

I seriously hate this place. Im so glad we finally bought a house!!! The Krantz brothers also like to push there "so called power around." Just because they are lawyers they think that should scare us. Well it doesnt. I have a family memeber that is a lawyer that I have talked to and all of this is on the border of unfair rental practices. He told me we should get a petition together and call News channel 5. Maybe the negative publicity will finally make things change around here!!! Oh and has any one looked at their lease agreements recently. It say s in there that garbage, maintenance and SNOW REMOVAL are included in rent!!! SO i dont know how it is even legal for him to tell us to move out if we dont like. He is obviously in breach of his own lease agreements!!!
