So, I've been at Walnut Hill for almost 4 years and within the past 1.5 years or so, everything has gone downhill and I mean, everything. The drainage here is horrific. I can't tell you how many bottles of Draino I've purchased over the past 1.5 years in order to have my shower water drained properly in the bathtub. I would say about every 2-3 weeks on average, I'd have to purchase a bottle of Draino so the bathtub water didn't fill up to my chins after a 10 minute shower (and believe me it did)! At first I thought it was just the shower, but the kitchen and bathroom sinks both collected water after only a mere 10 seconds of running. It was disgusting.

The hallways smell like smoke and they don't do anything about it. They have a no-smoking rule but more than once I've seen tenants walk out with an already-lit cigarette, smelling up the entire hallway. I got so disgusted from walking from my apt to my car one day that I complained to management. Management's way of helping "fix" the problem was to tell me that they cannot repremand anyone unless they "see someone smoking first-hand." I wanted to tell them to go smell my hallway and witness that first hand! Overall, nothing was done about it and the smell just got worse to where I had to practically hold my breath when walking from my car to my apt door.
Also, I'm a young female who was living in a first-floor apartment by myself. Last September while I happened to be gone for the weekend, someone pryed open my living room window and broke in. Luckily, there was nothing taken and/or no damage done. However, I was still terrified. I complained to Management about their poor security measures and the easiness of someone breaking into a first-floor apartment. Again, their way of helping "fix" the problem was to offer to send me to one of their sister apartments. I told them absolutely not! If safety isn't a priority at Walnut Hill, how is it a priority at their sister locations' To make a long story short, I went back and forth with them asking if they could make special arrangements to break my lease early because I was terrified of staying there by myself. They denied me and did nothing about my safety moving forward. All they were able to do was fix my window but that was it - no additional security measures, nothing. So, I've had to stay here for an additional 10 months (until my lease is up this July) always questioning "what if'" If you're a young female, do not live here because they could care less about your safety!

Well, I could go on and on about the lack of quietness in complexes, the lack of parking spaces and the lack of washer/dryers per unit but I won't. Hopefully, all the above will persuade someone to not give their $$ to Walnut Hill...
