Don't Do It

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006
I despise this place. I've lived here for almost 4 years and it seems to be getting worse and worse. Children run rampant through the hallways all hours of the night, areas in the building are constantly broken, the parking lot is filled with potholes, the maintenence staff is only one person (who is impossible to reach), and the yearly rise in rent is unbelieveable. When I moved into this two-bedroom apartment, rent was $463. Pretty good deal, right' It is now $570 and barely worth a penny. My mail has been stolen on several occasions, I've got dents in my car from other tenants, I have NO HEAT, and the buildings stink from the large amount of ethnic cooking. When the complex went through rennovations, there was work done with the water system. Whatever the problem was, they didn't fix it. Shortly after finishing the exterior rennovations, a deafening large bang comes from within the walls 24/7. How did they fix it' They turned off the heat. Don't count on doing your laundry when you'd like, either. The card system they have with their washers and dryers is awful. The card constantly breaks as well as the "Card station" where you put money on it. I've had three weeks of laundry sitting here waiting for these things to be fixed. I would think long and hard before signing a lease with Valley York. I move out next week.
