DON'T MOVE HERE!

I've lived here for 7 years now and it's getting worse and worse!
The neighbors I've had over the years have been great, but the maintenance staff....FORGET IT! I've had a leak in my bathroom for years now and every time they come to repair it, they half-ass fix it and it starts leaking again. The maintenance staff definitely sucks. The only time repairs actually get made is when I write letters to the management company. Why does it have to go that far.
When I first moved in I paid $581 for the larger two bedroom and if I stay another year I'll be paying $655 for this piece of crap place.
One time years ago my stove stopped working. It took them 2 weeks to get it replaced beause as they kept telling me when I called every damn day, it was in storage behind a lot of heavy equipment.
Another time my toilet needed replaced and we couldn't use it for the rest of the day so my family and I had to use the toilet in an empty apartment down the hall. I mean come on, they say 24-hour emergency maintenance...DON'T believe it!
They made all these renovations to the outside, but didn't fix anything inside. When they made the renovations they weren't done right either. When they replaced my balcony door, every time it rained heavy outside, it also rained inside. It took them a whole year to finally come fix it...half-ass.
The parking lot is full of potholes and sometimes there are children running in the hallways like banchies. What else are they suppposed to do'. They took the playground away years ago because it was a liability they didn't want to have.
And state-of-the-art fitness center.......PUH-LEASE! The best thing in that tiny funk box is the flat screen tv. There's a treadmill, a stationary bike, an eliptical machine and a home gym. And there's always a bunch of kids and sometimes adults just hanging out taking the machines from people who really want to workout.
And let's not get started about the snow removal in the winter....WHAT SNOW REMOVAL. It's basically every man for themselves here.
It's not a quiet community either. I had upstairs neighbors who would play their music all hours of the day and night and fight and the cops would come, oh it was awful sometimes.
There used to be snack machines in my building but they had to take them out because people were breaking into them stealing stuff.
I would never recommend this place to anyone! And the comments about the place on their website....don't believe it. That model apartment they show....don't believe that either. I have friends in nearly every building and NONE of the apartments look as nice as that one....believe me!
The heat in the winter....WHAT HEAT! I called and complained numerous times about the freezing temperatures inside the apartment and they said they're required by law to guarantee 68 degrees. And half the time you don't even get that. I used to turn on the oven and open it up to heat my apartment...DANGEROUS.
One time my closet shelf fell and I called maintenance. They came and "fixed" it, but when I put my clothes back on the shelf it fell again. They didn't actually fix right. They wholes in the wall where the braces had origianlly been were not repaired. They just moved the braces over and put them back up. I called again and they they told me to make the repairs myself because they had already come and fixed it. WHAT! I should have been gone from this place, but I just hate moving. Well, this year I'm outta here! Don't believe any of that crap they say on their website about it being a great place to live. Off to bigger and better places. Please don't waste your money at Valley York Apartments folks!
My rent is currently $625. Eff. July 1 it will increase $20 to cover utility costs and another $10 if I renew my lease for a total of $655. That is also a big reason why I'm outta here. It's just not worth it.
