These people are unbelievably horrible when it comes to moving out! My wife and I have to be relocated to Thailand for my job and did not know when it was going to happen. We did however think it would be by the end of May. We made that known when signing the lease and they informed me that they understood I would be leaving sometime around May. I walked in the office May 15th to tell them I received notice to leave and they told me that since I didn't give them a 30 day notice I would be charged 3 months rent, lose my security deposit, have to pay for cleaning, and carpet cleaning! VERY UPSETTING! They knew my situation and could care less... DON'T MOVE HERE!

Same thing happened to me. I paid 2 months rent to move out early (I relocated for my job, also) and painted the majority of the apartment. Plus they took my security deposit and sent me a bill for almost $300 for painting and cleaning. It had no due date, but when I didn't pay right away they referred my account to a collection agency without any warning notice. I was always a good tenant and paid my rent on time, but that still doesn't seem to matter to them. They will get as much out of you as they can!

A job transfer more than 50 miles from your current residence is legal grounds for early termination. I would get a lawyer.

When we moved out, 4 months short of our lease, they tried to strap us with some ridiculous bill for maintenance that made no sense (I can't remember what the deal was now, darn it) but thank god we have a lawyer in the family who told them to bite us and we weren't paying a cent. Haven't heard from them since.
