One month I paid my rent with a money order on the first of the month. Several days later they notified me that I hadn't paid the rent. Unfortunately, I lost my receipt for the money order. I immediately applied for a duplicate with the money order company but it takes 6 weeks. In the mean time, the management wouldn't accept my next month's rent and started eviction proceedings.

When the receipt came from the money order company, my money order had been cashed on the second of the month.

Even then, the management never apoligzed for the problems they had caused. And still didn't apply the rent to my apartment until "they investigated." I don't know why they wouldn't have investigated earlier. Surely, the books must have been out of balance by $650. I ended up having to consult a lawyer before they would correct their own error.

When I moved out of town for a new job, the reference they gave me was that I had eviction notices from them.

The fact that I had evictions was on my credit report and they never made any effort to remove it despite my repeated requests.
