When I looked at the model, everything looked fine. Upon move in I was presented a place with cigarette stains on the walls and ceiling, mold in the ventilation system, very worn out carpeting with pink stains in every room (they said the stains would come out after being cleaned, but they didn't), a front door that could bend out from the frame so much that you could see outside while the door was closed, a chipped countertop, and stains near the toilets on the floor that don't come out.

Since I was moving from another state, I didn't have a choice but to move in. Upon living here for 9 months I've had a number of problems, including: A broken water heater, the dishwasher broke 3 times, a persistant mold issue that has never gone away. There have been water leaks in the wall and through the bathroom fan. The parking is terrible and people routinely don't have a place to park and thus steal your reserved spot or park in no parking zones. 4 different managers in less than a year, 2 of which didn't care at all. I waited 3 months before the front door was replaced. The cigarette smell never left, neither has the mold -- both of which drive my allergies crazy and the management couldn't care less.

Oh, and the 'Gate' in Village Gate hasn't worked since a week after I put down extra money for a second remote - 8 months ago. They don't have any plans of fixing it. Lighting outside your apartment is your responsibility, not that of the property manager because 5 of 8 lights are out on my floor.
