I was set to sign in June of 2007. Two days before I went to sign, they called me saying that the address that they had given me was still being occupied by someone who had notified them of vacancy. I had to stay in my current housing for an additional month until they found a place for us to be.

Luckily, they found a new apartment for me, and I was scheduled to sign the new lease on Aug. 20th. After I signed, they told me that they did not have the keys for me because the painters or drywallers had my set of keys and had accidentally taken them. After an hour of trying to figure out what to do, they finally got me a set of keys and I was able to quickly look over the place. I noticed a few maintenence issues.

On wednesday, the 22nd, I dropped my girlfriend off and had her go over the apartment throughly and write up the move in inspection form. We turned this in on the 22nd and were assured that the issues would be taken care of before we moved in.

On the day we moved, we found that no one had even set foot into our apartment. The carpets were quickly swept, but not scrubbed. There was candy ground into the floors, pop stains, and debris covering the floor. The leasing office apologized and said that they were having trouble with their maintenence personnel and our apartment would be taken care of ASAP.

A month went buy and no one came to look at the apartment, even though we questioned them several times. Finally we got someone to come in and look at some of our problems. The maintenence guy spent a total of an hour "fixing" some of the issues. One issue has not been remedied. The bigger issues were not addressed.

We finally went down and wanted to know when our bathtub was going to be resurfaced due to the acryllic chipping and when the floors in the bathroom was going to be replaced because earlier water damage had gotten under the peel-n-stick tile. Over the course of a few weeks, we recieved different answers about what they were "deciding" to do.

Eventually they told us that they were going to resurface it, but we'd have to be out of the apartment. A few days later, that changed to them just replacing the tub and floors because they couldn't pay for a hotel. Then it went back to resurfancing the tub. They also told us that they weren't able to credit us for a hotel. Pointedly, we told them that they were INDEED going to credit us for a hotel stay, as the issue should have been remedied before we moved in.

The apartment manager told us that there was nothing she could do, as her supervisor had been filled in on the situation and knew the entire story. We got the supervisors number and after 10 minutes on the phone with the supervisor, we learned that she did not know the entire story and would credit us for the hotel stay.

Going back to the leasing office, we questioned the manager why she would lie to us and her supervisor and not explain the entire situation. She gave us a song about how she was following procedure and wasn't trying to take us for money, and wanted everyone to be happy. When we told her she obviously was not telling the entire story she began to get very snippy about how we were raising our voices and telling her how to do her job and she wasn't going to have us in her office anymore at the time.

Today we checked into the hotel early because I have to work during the day. The tub is supposed to be refinished, and we will have to be out of the apartment for health reasons. The floors have still not been addressed (we don't even know if it has been scheduled) and no one has been in to check on mold. We are at wits end and have only lived here for 2 months. I have been in talks with a lawyer and I'm trying to find a way to catch these people at their own game.

Word to the wise, if your interested in living in hell, welcome to Wind River Apratments.

Good luck in getting anything fixed. I've waited 10 months. I can't wait to move out of this pit.

So how did everything turn out? I would love to know if anything ever came with talking with your lawyer. Get ahold of me and I'll tell you how they decided I owe $1400 for rent this month. babyjo18 at yahoo dot com
