Everything That Glitters Is Not Gold

When I first saw Dorchester Village Apartments I love the community, I thought this would be great for a first time apartment. The staff seem really nice and the price was right. After moving in my one bedrooom apartment with my boyfriend we already seen quite a few problems. First the showroom apartment they allow us to see was nothing like the apartment they had provided for us, there was loose doorknobs, the main entrance door did not lock right, I had to use tools just to get the lock to line up right. the cabinets are not updated like they said it would be, and the bathroom was hideous. The maintence guy was in and out of our apartment all the time, there seem to always be a problem with the water in the bathroom underneath us, I felt like I had no privacy. Children run up and down the hallways all the time, the walls are very thin so you can hear everything even at 1 or 2 clock in the morning. Residents are very untidy, there would be food, wrappers, clothes, condoms and condom wrappers in the hallways and parking lot. Also there was always glass in the parking lot that never seems to get clean up, which is not only a hazard but not very friendly to your car tires. The fitness center was nice at first moving in, there was a tv and vending machine inside, now there is nothing but a couple machines that barely work, and lots of people just hanging out in there. The lobby use to have a couch and some nice accessories, now the couch is gone, and all there is left is just a little coffee table that young children and teenagers sit on and hang around at leaving wrappers, food, just a complete mess. The staff is also really ignorant once you really get to meet them. They are loud and ghetto, and the property manager is not very friendly. And also the playground on the property is not very children safety there are older people hanging around there smoking and drinking etc. I would not ever recommend Dorchester Village Apartments to anyone unless you plan on living in a suburban ghetto, also Richmond Heights School system has a very poor academic rating.
