I currently live in #3351. I was looking up the ratings for this apartment as i am fed up with the landlord. I was surprised to see all those good reviews, definitively written by the landlord himself. In line with other bad reviews, I agree that the landlord is extremely rude and inflexible. I am a resident physician, and I have been in this building for 3 years. He refused to renew my lease for 6 months as I am leaving for additional training in March. He said I should sublease for the rest of the year! He has been very difficult to deal with (i.e fixing clogged sink, broken elevators, broken garage doors, leaky garage that damaged my car's trunk, etc...). I had to call and email him numerous times. I just hope that nothing breaks down in the unit until I leave as I heard that he will make his tenant pay for any damage. He is careless about tenant's safety issues and rights. If you are looking to rent here, save yourself and go elsewhere. My neighbors have had a great deal of issues as well. No one can stand him. I have seen him twice screaming his lungs out at 2 older ladies living in the same building. He shows no respect to his tenants. You should just talk to tenants around here and get a feel if you are even considering this property. Read the lease very carefully as it is full with landmines! (you will be responsible for any damage beyond the deposit, you have to notify him 120 days before leaving otherwise your lease will be renewed automatically. P.S: The same owner/landlord owns Shaker Regency.

Call Shaker Housing office and report the landlord for not fixing things. This advice came from Shaker Heights Mayor who is aware of the situation and is beginning to monitor it. The amount of fear that he has placed in the older tenants is horrible!
