First of all, I want to start out by saying absolutely, in no way should you even consider renting from Niederst management. This property in particular has changed management at least three times in less than a year, a sign of mismanagement and/or a bad company. We rented in December, first of all promised a discount/promotion of first month free with deposit. We scheduled move in to be mid month, and were pushed to pay next month immediately. The "security" of the premises was non existent, doors always propped open, The HVAC was taken apart and didn't work, half of the stove didn't work, and apparently they don't check anything before renting it to you. In January three times the heater failed to come on and the thermostat didn't work, and we spent several days out of our apartment with a newborn. The sink in the bathroom backed up, as well as the bathtub. The windows leaked. And the bang up maintenance staff of course failed to take care of any of this in a reasonable time period. The "emergency maintenance number" changed and the staff didn't feel like notifying anyone, although the new one didn't get any response either. When they DID come out and "fix" the problems, we had to call them again as they failed to do any of this properly and/or caused a worse problem, particularly with the sinks and drains. Of course the AC didn't work when it started warming up, and weeks after notifying them a month early before the real heat came when prompted again "we had no idea your ac didn't work". The kitchen sink backed up, the maintenance man whom came out replaced a fitting and then the sink began to leak instead. They had to redo the drain problems in the bathroom another handful of times, and eventually just took out the garbage disposal in the kitchen. The final straw for us was in Semptember when the HVAC unit drain clogged *most likely from some kind of animal* and slowly flooded the master bedroom with water. I notified them on a monday, first by calling the "emergency number" next I actually dropped off the issue in writing and told them in the office, and again at closing time for the office called again. My wife called the next day and no one had said or done anything, the manager didn't even KNOW. It took over a week and half to have the process of cleaning up/carpet/repair to be taken care of including the mold that by that time had effected the carpet. We were promised a week of rent witheld for our inconvenience and surprise! The manager left when it came time to pay the rent again, and none of it on their end was documented on their end. Fortunately, we have! So I beg and plead with you, never consider this property, or any other from this management. This is by far the worst experience I have had. Bad enough things happen, but the lack of response and accountability was the worst part of this experience. All of this and we received a rent raise in under a years time! OH BOY!
